Gretchen has owned and operated her own independent music production, legal and business affairs company for over 20 years. Her clients include individual artists, production companies, record labels, music publishers, video game companies, and talent agencies in every area of the entertainment industry throughout the world. She has served as a production supervisor for film, television, albums, and video games, and has garnered over 40+ screen credits on independent and blockbuster studio productions. Gretchen also has consulted with well-known actors, writers, and producers on the financing and management of their own film, television, and stage play productions.
Gretchen began her career at 16 years old working for Walt Disney Feature Animation as a production assistant. She continued to work for Disney in Feature Animation, the Disney Channel, and Feature Production for Walt Disney Pictures and Television and was hired immediately following law school into Feature Film music legal department, specializing in music licensing and composer agreement negotiation.
In 1999, she became the Head of Music Production and Music Production Supervisor for the world-renowned composer, Hans Zimmer and his composing company, Media Ventures/Remote Control. Gretchen was responsible for handling music production for Zimmer and ten other famous composers, as well as overseeing the business administration of his company at large. While there, Gretchen also developed strategic alliances with major film production companies such as Sony, Warner Bros., Paramount, Universal, Fox, and Disney Studios. In early 2001, she co-founded Ingenuity Entertainment and entered into a joint venture with the west coast office of Zomba Music, the most successful privately held record company in the world.
Two years later, Gretchen decided to open her own independent production supervision, business affairs, and consultant company. In the last twenty years, Gretchen has developed relationships with talent agencies, and all of the major and mini-major production studios, and has experience in negotiating all types of production, finance, and distribution deals in the entertainment industry.
Throughout her career, Gretchen has actively supported ventures that fought for access for people of color in the entertainment industry by providing pro bono services to independent film projects, independent artist releases, stage play tours, and independent film festivals for the advancement of BIPOC entertainment professionals.
Gretchen graduated from Yale University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics and East Asian Studies, holds a Juris Doctorate degree from Boalt Hall School of Law at UC Berkeley, is an active certified member of the State Bar of California, and earned a master’s degree in Transpersonal Psychology from Atlantic University, Edgar Cayce A.R.E. and founded www.cometoyourself.com
